Overview

As a part of our work with startups we’ve noticed a real need of pre-built presentations, onepagers and other graphic materials for entrepreneurs.

So we built a product that solves a problem of high-end design for businesses that can’t afford an expensive design process and need an immediate solution. We based most of our work on "the best practice" of competitors. But there were few things we thought we should do better.

Challenges & solutions

1. Fear to design.

Lots of users felt lost when they started to move things round. They weren't sure their design decisions looked well enough. It was a true frustration for them.

The solution was to lock the design. We provided a feature that allowed users to lock the template, so they don't have to move things around.

They could easily change the text and the image, but not the template.

At any moment they could decide to unlock the layout, if needed.

2. Lack of time .

Lack of time is something we are all familiar with and sometimes when you get to the DIY app, you have too many options yo choose from, when the user is not sure he picks the right one for his needs. Plus, there is a learning time, which can be very frustrating.

The solution

1. The editor layout was as close to well known competitors and editors as possible.

2. We decided to build a filter that would allow users easily get to the designs they need, based on their industry.

By using this filter we could offer the users the templates that were pre-designed especially for their industry - including specific fonts, color palette and images.

The result was a faster decision on which template to work and less frustration of choice.
